The Trail Tube:

Taking the "Bedroll" to the Next Level

One thing I don't like about bedrolls is that if you need to get to something you rolled up inside, you have to unroll everything to get to it.

I was messing around a large piece of PVC pipe wondering if I could use it as a container and roll the blanket around the outside of the pipe.

While I was driving to the plumbing store I got to think about some things. First, the PVC was heavy. If I were to add fittings, it would probably be impractical. Second, it's plastic. If I wanted to use it in a rugged environment, it may break. Third... well, I didn't get that far. By this time I had turned and headed towards a nearby military surplus store.

After taking some measurements, I ended up purchasing what I believe is a surplus mortar container. I've seen them a million times but can't seem to remember the name. I'm sure someone here will help me out with this.
